Joseph Harris Frederick (aka Panaman) is a skilled Steadicam and camera operator available for contract through Bairn. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, USA, his passion for cinematography has taken him on an incredible journey through the world of film.
Joe's story begins in 2010 when he entered the movie industry, initially working at Paskal lighting for three years. It was during this time that he forged numerous connections and honed his craft.
Transitioning to freelance work as an electrician for Local 479, Joe discovered a newfound love for photography. This passion not only deepened his understanding of framing and composition but also served as a stepping stone towards his eventual transition from still imagery to dynamic motion.
Determined to excel in his field, he dedicated himself to continuous learning, attending various training classes and courses with industry experts such as Greg Smith of Steadicam Lessons LA and Jessica Lopez of Steadischool Evidence Studios LA. He also pursued camera operator courses at esteemed institutions like AbelCine in Chicago and Keslow in New York City.
Joining Local 600 marked a significant milestone in Joe's career, propelling him further into the realm of professional cinematography, and his aspirations didn't stop there. Drawing inspiration from his familial roots in Colon, Panama, he founded Panaman Productions LLC. The name serves not only as a nod to his heritage but also as a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft.
